On March 21, 2013, Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County received re-accreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA). Due to CSSW’s best practice and dedicated staff, the organization was expedited through the process and received notification in just one week! COA accreditation is a national, objective, independent and reliable validation of an organization’s performance. The COA accreditation process involves a detailed review of an organization’s administrative, management and service delivery functions against international standards of best practice.
Accreditation endorses services and a skilled and supported workforce that are appropriate, coordinated, culturally competent and evidence-based. COA reviews and accredits the entire organization, meaning that the board of trustees, staff, consumers and all other stakeholders of a COA accredited human service provider can have confidence in the credibility, integrity and achievement of the organization.
