Intentional Communities of Washtenaw

Dear Friends,

For the last 13 years, Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County (CSSW) and Intentional Communities of Washtenaw (ICW) have enjoyed a productive and valuable partnership to provide supportive, independent housing for adults with developmental disabilities.  Over the years, ICW has been a direct service program of CSSW and more recently, CSSW has been providing fiduciary and administrative support to ICW.

ICW has grown to include multiple housing clusters and community-builder positions, and we share enormous pride in the quality of the program and all it offers our community.  ICW’s innovative programming remains a best-practice model that enables individuals with disabilities to live independently, be productive citizens, and enjoy a high quality of life.

ICW is now in the process of becoming its own 501c3 non-profit organization and will be managing all operations and funding.  The program has always benefitted from a strong, involved advisory board who will continue to provide ongoing direction and guidance.  CSSW and ICW are committed to a successful transition that is expected to be completed by September 17, 2018.  Once completed, donors and supporters of ICW should make financial gifts payable to ICW and mail to P.O. Box 1525, Ann Arbor, MI 48106-1525.

CSSW and ICW are both confident that the excellent work will continue and that this next step will best meet the ongoing needs of the individuals and families ICW serves.  For more information, contact Dick Carlisle at 734-649-8303 or Martha Bloom at 734-649-3618.

Sincerely,

Peg Bravo
