    About the Program

The mission of Offender Success Program is to reduce crime and enhance public safety by implementing a seamless system of services for clients from the time of their entry to prison through their transition back home by assisting with community reintegration and aftercare in local communities. The Offender Success program is proud to serve our communities by supporting our returning citizens.

Catholic Charities Washtenaw County (CCWC) operates the Offender Success programs for Prosperity Region 9 (Washtenaw, Livingston, Jackson, Hillsdale, Lenawee, Monroe) as part of a state-wide collaborative with the Michigan Department of Corrections.

    Who We Help

The Offender Success program is a referral based program that works hand in hand with the Michigan Department of Corrections. Parole agents working in Washtenaw, Livingston, Jackson, Lenawee, Hillsdale, and Monroe send referrals to CCWC to authorize services for their clients.

If you are currently on parole in any of these counties you must have a referral from your parole agent to be enrolled in services. Due to funding constraints, Offender Success services are reserved for people on parole only and cannot be used for people on probation, people who have discharged from MDOC supervision, or ‘maxed out’ of prison.

    Job Opportunities for Returning Citizens

Offender Success updates our list of employers that are willing to hire returning citizens every four to six weeks. If you are an employer that would like to be added to this list, please e-mail Syd Rupp at [email protected].

    Requests for Proposals

Offender Success releases requests for proposals (RFPs) as needed to find new vendors for different services amongst the six counties in Region 9. If you are interested in providing services for returning citizens, please e-mail Syd Rupp [email protected] and Kristin Anderson [email protected] with the completed RFP documents.

    How You Can Help

Returning citizens often return home with very few belongings and must start their lives over from scratch. Offender Success strives to provide clients with needed items, like clothing, food, hygiene supplies, to help make the transition back home easier. While Offender Success is able to fund clothing and work supplies through our contract with MDOC, donations are vital to the program and our clients. Donations help the Offender Success programs expands the budget to take on more clients each year, and help provide funding for new program opportunities.
