About ADA

Mission Statement

Alternatives to Domestic Aggression (ADA) specializes in working with men to stop their use of abuse or battering. The purpose of ADA is to end domestic violence and abuse in our community. ADA is a program of Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County. We offer services on a non-denominational basis, so we work with people of all, or no, religious affiliations.

Philosophy

Understanding domestic violence begins with feminist theory which views domestic violence as a form of political, social, economic, sexual and physical oppression of women individually and as a group.

Intervention Strategies

Domestic violence must be dealt with comprehensively. For more information, please visit the Intervention Strategies page found under professionals.
