Social Support Therapy Dogs can be life changing for people suffering from a range of concerns like daily stressors to severe trauma- and valuable in many therapeutic settings. Speakers Michelle McCarthy, nationally recognized Certified Dog Behavior Consultant, and Kit Fuller, MSW, Psychotherapist and Director of Child and Youth Services at Samaritan Counseling Services, along with their canine therapists, will share the benefits offered by these special dogs to folks with special needs. Participants will learn to identify:

The differences and appropriateness of Animal Assisted activities verses Animal Assisted therapy

Specific roles of dogs in a therapeutic/clinical setting
