CSSW offers foster care for children who have been separated from their birth families for reasons of abuse and/or neglect. Through the family-to-family approach, CSSW licenses foster families to provide a safe, loving temporary home until the child is able to be reunified with their birth family. Prospective foster parents hoping to adopt children placed with them should be aware that the State of Michigan’s focus is on reunification with birth parents whenever possible. This can be very hard on foster parents who become attached to the children they’ve taken into their care. Our professional staff is happy to discuss both the challenges and rewards of foster parenting with you.
