Description:
Housing Support Services (HSS) collaborates with local non-profit Avalon Housing to provide comprehensive assistance for extremely low-income residents. In addition to housing instability and homelessness, clients often face complex challenges which may include a mental illness, physical disability, substance addiction, and chronic medical conditions. Guided by Avalon's "housing first" philosophy, HSS focuses on helping tenants maintain stable housing while providing support services. The four main components of HSS are: Individualized case management; eviction prevention and housing crisis assistance; therapeutic support and skills training; and community building.
