This is a contingent part time research position with the Family Assessment Clinic. This position provides a full range of activities related to the operations of the Family Assessment Clinic, a project which addresses issues of child maltreatment and Case Record Reviews. Full time Resource Specialist/Housing Coordinator position available to work with participants of the Washtenaw and Monroe Offender Success (WOS/MOS) programs. Position works in partnership with local parole agents to support returning citizens in successfully transitioning from prison to the community. The Resource Specialist/Housing Coordinator develops and coordinates resources designed to address the unique criminogenic issues of each returning citizen as identified on the COMPAS assessment. FOSTER CARE CASE MANAGER
A full time foster care position is available to serve clients in Jackson, Hillsdale, and Branch Counties. The foster care case manager will be responsible for case management services provided to neglected/abused children who are currently in foster care, birth parents, and foster parents. It includes, but is not limited to development of Parent/Agency Agreements, timely completion of service plans for children, attendance at court hearings and ability to testify, referrals to external services, and consistent contact with the child’s providers. The foster care manager is also required to provide supportive casework services to birth parents and make referrals for any needed services. A working knowledge of Child Welfare licensing requirements, DHHS policies, and State of Michigan laws regarding foster care is necessary. While most situations are handled during the weekday, some evening and weekend work may be required. Shared on-call availability with the foster care staff is utilized to manage 24/7 availability.
To qualify for this position, you must possess a Bachelor’s degree in the human services field with experience in child welfare related field. Master’s or Bachelor level internship may be considered towards experience. CWTI training preferred. Licensure or eligibility for licensure, in the State of Michigan, as related to the specific degree is required. Some of the other qualifications include knowledge of the impact of physical and sexual abuse, neglect, and other forms of trauma on children. Have a working understanding of the role of attachment, separation, grief and loss in child well-being and cultural sensitivity for work with children and families of diverse backgrounds. Offender Success (WOS) aims to support returning offenders of the WOS program in achieving a safe and successful transition back into the community. The WOS Housing Coordinator will provide a variety of housing coordination services for homeless WOS participants in our transitional housing program.
