1. Introductions
2. Discussion of agenda items: the Unitarian Church has a long history of opposition to violence, the Friends also have a long history of interest in opposition to war and a support of pacifism
3. Discussion about the possibility of putting on a quarterly training for community Faith Based leaders (only)
4. We need to reach out to the congregations not (only) to the leadership. “when the people lead-the leaders follow”.
5. Discussion about the idea of creating a flyer and getting a large group of volunteers to put them on the windshields of cars in the church parking lots telling them about us and asking the question what does your faith based community know about ___________? Examine the mote in your eye quote and other FB similar quotes on the flyer were suggestions as well
6. Liz has a lot of experience in going to the churches. Liz discussed this history.
7. Discussion about the Health Fair Booth on August 23rd from 12:00-5:00 p.m. all agreed we should have a presence. Program handouts, our coalition information and other literature would be at the booth. David agreed to make the contact with the Parkridge Community Center.
8. La Tresa agreed to be a Co-Chair of the coalition and David accepted on an interim basis as well.
9. We need to confirm with Barb about the agenda item of secretary duties.
