Refuse To Abuse
ADA Information Campaign 2003

Beginning in 2003 the Alternatives to Domestic Aggression Program Launched an informational campaign entitled “Refuse to Abuse.” The kick off was initiated with Key chains and bumper stickers. We initially learned about this "slogan" in a training sponsored by the Michigan Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. This training focused on Prevention efforts in the field.

One of the presenters was Nan Stoops from the Washington Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Ms. Stoops discussed the WSCADV history with creating the Refuse To Abuse Campaign. We immediately were so moved by this work that we set out to initiate our own campaign here in Washtenaw County.

The Refuse To Abuse Campaign is Trade Marked by the WSCADV.

Our plans for later in the year include the use of billboards and banners as well.
